    Kei Kamara's return to MLS from England is one reason the Columbus Crew find themselves in the Eastern Conference finals.

    Since the dawn of Major League Soccer, constructing a competitive roster has been an exercise in finding the small margins. In a league governed by a salary cap as well as some arcane roster rules, a premium was placed on finding the soft spots, better to accumulate that extra bit of talent. Looking at the four teams left in the MLS playoffs, that remains true today.
